"Tea and Schmooze" with Steven Rosenhaus

After Friday evening (Mincha/Ma'ariv) services (which start 7pm), Hillcrest Jewish Center presents the first of the season's "Tea and Schmooze." Guest speakers give a sort of TED talk, with subject matters including their experiences, knowledge, and more. I will be speaking about my career...or rather, careers, as a composer, arranger, conductor, etc. All ages are welcome. Contact HJC for more information.

Lakeview Middle School Orchestra Premieres "Song for the Wire Choir"

The Lakeview Middle School Orchestra under the direction of Christina Miller will perform a concert including the premiere of Steven's "Song for the Wire Choir," which was commissioned by the Colony High School Orchestra Booster Club. For more information, contact the Lakeview Middle School.

The Carson City Symphony, David Bugli, Conductor, will present a concert of works helping to celebrate Nevada Day. Works will include Steven L. Rosenhaus' "Nevada Bagatelles." "Copyright from the Composer's Perspective" session at ACB

Members of ACB who attended Mark Morette’s and Sarah McElfresh’s session on copyright at the 2025 convention were introduced to important concepts and information regarding copyright and licensing from the perspective of band directors. This session by Dr. Steven L. Rosenhaus, author of The Concert Composer’s Business Handbook, flips that perspective to that of the composer, or arranger, or publisher, with the intent to clarify the need for copyright and the protections it offers both music creators and the musicians who perform their works. (ALSO: Steven's "Variations on a Neapolitan Theme" will be included on the new music reading session.)

Whetstone High School Orchestra and Choir (Columbus, OH) Perform "Danza de mi Corazón" for String Orchestra

Church of St. Paul the Apostle (NYC), 405 W. 59th Street, New York, NY 10019

The Whetstone High School Choir and Orchestra will perform a concert at the Church of St. Paul the Apostle in New York City, including Steven's "Danza de mi Corazón" for strings. Steven will be guest conducting that work and another to be announced.

Connecticut Music Educators Association 78th Annual In-Service Conference, CT Convention Center, 100 Columbus Blvd, Hartford, CT 06103

Selected student compositions/songs will be shared will be made into a QR Code Poster and displayed during the conference. On Saturday, March 28, 2026 from 9-11am, those students whose compositions/songs are selected are invited to attend a Meet&Greet with the other student composers. Students will have the chance to do a composition gallery walk, collaborate with the fellow composers/songwriters, and will hear from special guest composer Steven L. Rosenhaus. Before the conference weekend, Dr. Rosenhaus will hold a virtual meeting (date TBA) with students whose compositions have been accepted. This meeting will allow him to get to know the students ahead of time, making the in-person experience more meaningful.

"The Business of Composing and Arranging" at the American String Teachers Association conference

String teachers who compose or arrange do so for their students' needs, for their own performances, or simply because they are compelled to write. But few know enough about copyrights, publishing, or ways to earn income from the music they write. This session, based on years of experience as an educator, professional composers and arranger, and editor for music publishers, as well as in-depth research, introduces these topics and more. (ALSO: Steven's "Bass Parade" will be included on the Grade 2 reading session)
